What will be the BIG August story as summer draws to a close?

Today’s news includes a note about how as SA platinum mining labour unrest spreads – fears mount of a broader mining crisis – South Africa is a major commodity producing country.

About this time last year ExxonMobil were headlined as having formed an Arctic exploration partnership with Rosneft, the Russian state oil group. BP were probably not pleased…

Also China were reported to be going on a metals buying spree including copper in a show of confidence in the global economy – in contrast to the turmoil in western markets.
