Market Numbers

This Week:  Again, with a more hopeful start to the week on Monday, the markets fell to just above 5700 before they improved toward the mid week, peaking at the 5786 level. They plateau’d for much of Wednesday before deteriorating again as the end of the week approached, with further declines on Friday to the week’s low point at Friday close.  The markets ended the week lower than at the start. FTSE 100 Peak: 5795.25; Trough: 5605.59

The Month: The high point over the last month remained the Peak at 5928.27 from four weeks ago. The low point of 5715.23 at the end of last week was “bettered” by a new Lowest Point at the end of Friday trade this week of 5605.59. The FTSE 100 has plateau’d around 5800 for much of the month before declining to the 5600 level by the end of this week. Overall the FTSE is down over the last month, with much of the decline in this last week. Despite the rises and falls of this month, November has now seen a general decrease in the overall level compared to three months ago, although the beginning of September saw a large dip before the index improved.

The overall view of the last 6 months is still more of a consolidated plateau at a higher level than the 6 months start.
