Market Numbers Friday 23rd November 2012

Market Numbers

This Week:  The markets improved steadily toward the mid week and continued to improve, bar the normal market intraday fluctuations, through to the week’s close on Friday.  The markets ended the week higher than at the start. FTSE 100 Peak: 5830.53; Trough: 5605.59 (start of the week).

The Month: The high point over the last month was 5921.78. The Lowest Point was at the end of Friday trade in the previous week of 5605.59. The FTSE 100 has plateau’d around 5800 for much of the month before declining to the 5600 level by the end of the previous week although recovery this week has brought overall values back up. Overall the FTSE is slightly up over the last month, with the decline of the previous week being reversed. Despite the rises and falls of this month, November has now seen a general increase in the overall level compared to three months ago, although the beginning of September saw a large dip before the index improved.

The overall view of the last 6 months is still more of a consolidated plateau at a higher level than the 6 months start.
